Great Walls......

These are inspirational designs of random texture yet in repeat (on large scale).
Jodie put up one image for our group project, I followed the trail & really enjoy these designs. They are beautifully rough & random.

‘EcoMistic’ is the idea of NaturaLiving & EcoDesign which re-examine’s the past & takes this in to consideration for the future whilst taking into account the design & product impact on the environment. People are making conscious positive decisions daily leading to a higher personal environmental responsibility,

These images have been collected from Vogue Living Sept/Oct 2011 issue. I have collated images that captured my attention whilst also having a coming thread of Nature + something and annotated the various elements of design that are becoming more pronounced.

Everything old is new

While I was people watching on RMIT City Campus, I took a moment to look up and observe the beautiful blue winter sky. This image, I feel, perfectly captures the mood and feeling that I experienced from my style hunting adventure. It shows the old, the new and the environment. This is the new trend of thinking in great design, looking at the past and thinking of the future whilst considering designs the impact on the environment.

Melbourne City Search

On such a lovely sunny Melbourne winters day, I chose to venture into the CBD to observe the local stylesI rode to The Melbourne Library and wondered around there and the RMIT City Campus, returning home via Little Collins Street and Zomp shoes. It was interesting observing the styles in that area of the city as it is less corporate and more student orientated. There was fabulous self expression and obvious styles and trends.
I found this image in Textile View magazine #94 while doing general research on upcoming trends. It feels like a continuance of the natural muted colour palettes highlighted with warmer brighter colours. This image encapsulates the every increasing awareness and reference to environment concern and consideration in good design.

New found appreciation....

I took the photos on the right in the stairwell of my apartment block a couple of months ago. It was an interesting moment of appreciation of my surroundings. I have lived in this apartment for 6 years and have always felt uninspired by the exterior of our humble abode. For some reason on this morning as I left early to go work or uni I noticed the fantastic colour palette that is my stairwell- a total new found appreciation of my environment, 'Inspiration in the everyday'. Interestingly, during upcoming trend research for my Trend Forecasting elective I noticed these images in Textile View magazine #94 for winter 12/13, I am a fan of the muted colours with highlights of brighter or warmer colours.

First off...

I am starting this blog off with my Individual project element of my Elective class 'Trend Forecasting'. It is an 8wk intensive subject that entails us to create a visual reference of information gathered on emerging trends and ideas. I love creating visual diary's of inspirational images and over the years I have completed, filed and refer to constantly many a scrapbook. This is my introduction to the digital version. I hope to continue this blog during my stay in the UK to document my time and allow my family and friends to stay easily connected.
